Sweeping changes

Autumn: rough winds come,
leaves tumble, swirl and scatter;
my broom sweeps them up.

  1. Seeing this haiku on the screen again a day after posting, I have made a small but important reversal in the first line ― back to what I had written originally ― intentionally calling to mind Shakespeare’s “rough winds do shake the darling buds of may …” (Sonnet 18).
