This image is one of a number I squeezed off when a building was being renovated more than two years ago. The ceramic tiles in a doorway had been lifted, exposing another layer of materials underneath. I was fascinated by the incongruous impression of “honeycomb”.
At the time, it seemed that none of those images deserved the light of day. Disappointed, I archived them and let them lie for a while.
Several times since then, I’ve reviewed the pictures, wondering whether to attempt a rescue.
Finally, this morning, I used Photoshop to correct fish-eye distortion and perspective errors, then tweaked the colour curves and cropped slightly.
