The contractors moved a lot of beautiful ‘heritage’ houses to allow for the construction – much to the disgust of many of us – of the Wellington Inner City Bypass.

The bypass was opened in 2007, but the majority of the relocated houses remain vacant, their interiors stripped and gutted.

Some were refurbished … for appearance’s sake.

This shot is a favourite in the series I captured in 2008 and have just rediscovered.
